Porto has experienced great popularity over the last few years. The beautiful city has a great location by the Atlantic Ocean and the Douro River divides the city in two, and Porto has a wealth of good restaurants and great hotels. The city is a good size and most of the historic city center can be experienced on foot.
The town that gives the port its name has approx. a quarter of a million citizens. We recommend a visit to one of the area's many wineries. You can choose between an architect-designed winery with a panoramic view, perched above the Douro River, or the historic winery, Adega Aveleda, which was founded in 1870 and is still housed in the original buildings.
Take a ride on Porto's trams or visit the famous Lello bookstore, which will make you feel like you've been set in a Harry Potter movie. On the outskirts of Porto, you can experience the Serralves Museum, and east of the city you can experience the Palacio do Matheus, with beautiful baroque gardens. We can also arrange a private cruise on the Douro River with dining and a glass of port.
